We process personal data in accordance with applicable Swiss data protection law. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

3. Collected Data

When you visit this website, technical log data may be processed (for example IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser information). If you subscribe to the newsletter, we process your email address and optional name.

4. Purpose of Processing

We process data to provide the website, ensure security and stability, answer inquiries, and provide newsletter communication.

5. Newsletter

For the newsletter we process the email address and optional name you provide. Our newsletter emails contain measurement (open and click tracking) so we can see whether messages are useful. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, in your profile settings, or by contacting ck@swisstravel.club.

6. User Account & Forum

If you create an account, we store your email address, name, an encrypted password and any profile details you add (avatar, bio). Content you post in the forum, comments and ratings is stored and shown publicly together with your display name. You can edit or delete your own posts, and delete your entire account at any time (see your rights below).

7. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies required for login/session functionality. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required.

8. Analytics

We run our own privacy-friendly analytics. We count page views using a daily-rotating, salted hash. We do not store IP addresses or other personal data for analytics, set no analytics cookies, and use no third-party analytics service (e.g. Google Analytics).

9. Data Sharing & Processors

The website is hosted in Switzerland. We use service providers only where required for operation: email delivery via our SMTP provider, and sign-in via Google (only if you choose to log in with Google). We do not sell personal data.

10. Retention & Deletion

Data is stored only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or required by law. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time under Profile → “Delete account”, or by contacting ck@swisstravel.club.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability regarding your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact ck@swisstravel.club. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB).
